About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Materials Handler/Warehouse Team Leader based in Preston, VIC. As a Materials Handler Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing a small team of warehouse operators, monitor and ensure safe operations, and minimising downtown. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency and team leadership.

What you'll be doing

Monitor and ensure safe operation of forklifts and equipment by team members

Ensure components and materials are prepared in advance to minimise downtime

Respond to and act on reports of damage to racking or equipment

Monitoring team performance and providing coaching and feedback to drive continuous improvement

Coordinate loading of trucks and assembly of customer orders

Promoting a positive, collaborative and safety-focused work environment

Oversee the unloading, inspection, and receiving of incoming goods from suppliers

Lead regular team meetings to drive continuous improvement in distribution operations

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a Team Leader or Warehouse Supervisor with a strong understanding of production and warehouse operations

Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills to effectively manage a team

Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, make decisions and prioritise tasks

Proficient in the use of warehouse management systems and inventory control software

Forklift licence and experience operating warehouse equipment

Strong commitment to workplace health and safety

This role is a casual position, offering full-time hours, with the opportunity for permanent employment after 3-6 months.

$35+ per hour

$115 per week Team Leader allowance
