White Rabbit Gallery was opened in 2009 to showcase what has become one of the world’s largest and most significant collections of Chinese contemporary art. Founded by Judith Neilson, who was inspired to establish it after her first trips to Beijing in the late 1990s, it is dedicated to showcasing the creative energy and technical quality of works made in the 21st century that Judith wanted to share with people outside of China.
White Rabbit Tea House
Whether you’re visiting White Rabbit’s collection, meeting a friend or just in need of a break, the gallery’s tranquil street-level Tea House is a delightful place to relax, chat, or simply read the paper as you sip. As well as snacks, we serve a wide range of the finest Chinese and Taiwanese teas. The White Rabbit Tea House also serves freshly handmade dumplings, as well as a sweet or savory snack plates with homemade biscuits and scones baked daily in our kitchen.
The Role
We are looking for someone to fill a full-time position as Teahouse Supervisor at White Rabbit Gallery, 9am-5pm Wednesday to Sunday, who is ready to commit to the role for more than a 12-month period.
Someone friendly, organised and able to adapt to different paces of work. Service within the Teahouse can range from quiet to busy depending on the day of the week and time of the day. It is essential that you can work harmoniously within a team and to utilise the skills, strengths and knowledge of the existing staff.
Someone who loves looking after customers and building relationships with the regulars. This role calls for someone able to take on a varied number of tasks from general set-up and organisation of the teahouse to baking scones, preparing dumplings, brewing teas, serving, washing up and cleaning.

Responsibilities
· Managing day to day operations both independently and as part of a team
· Cash handling
· Ordering stock and stock management
· Full knowledge of menu and allergens
· Food, Health and Safety operations
· Food preparation
· Staff training and supervision
· Time management
· Opening and closing procedures
· Reporting breakages and equipment maintenance requirements
· Cleaning duties and use of industrial dishwasher
· Ability to work Wednesday to Sunday 9am-5pm
Qualifications
· 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory/managerial role in hospitality
· Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
· Attention to detail and a focus on customer service
· Excellent organisational skills
· Dependable and reliable
Desirable but not essential
· Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
· Current RSA
