Our client, a leading U.S. based tech company, is seeking an experienced HR Generalist for an 11-month maternity leave contract. This is a true generalist, standalone role, reporting directly to the Director of HR based in the U.S. and supporting the APAC region.

Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for HR matters across APAC (Aus, China, Philippines)
- Provide day-to-day advice and guidance to leaders on performance management, ER/IR issues, and HR policies
- Manage employee lifecycle support: onboarding coordination, orientation sessions (fortnightly/monthly), and general HR documentation
- Collaborate with compliance, legal, and global HR colleagues to ensure policy alignment and legal compliance across regions
- Update and maintain employee contracts and HR documents in line with compliance regulations
- Provide HR support to leaders across multiple business units - tech, sales, retail, and customer success
- Partner with the global Workday implementation project (especially local rollout in Australia)
- Occasionally support recruitment team with onboarding if needed (no active recruitment involved)
Your Profile
- Experienced HR Generalist, confident working independently in a standalone capacity
- Strong working knowledge of Australian HR compliance, with exposure to China and/or the Philippines a plus
- Familiar with working across multiple time zones, especially U.S.-based stakeholders
- Comfortable starting early (ideally 7am) to accommodate overlap with U.S. team
- Experience supporting modern awards and BOOT testing - particularly in a tech or professional services environment
- Able to flex across hybrid working - ideally 2-3 days onsite at Burwood East
- Strong communicator and natural relationship builder - trusted advisor to leaders
- Previous exposure to Workday (or similar HRIS implementations) desirable
- Practical, down-to-earth, and can "keep the lights on" without the need for constant guidance
