The Firm:
Our client is a specialist accounting firm that is currently experiencing growth and looking to expand its outsourced CFO team. They are seeking a candidate to join the team, focusing on bookkeeping and management accounting for three clients.Located in the Sydney CBD, the firm is just minutes from public transport and operates from a brand-new office. Culturally, they are a close-knit team with diverse backgrounds and a strong reputation for providing high levels of support to both employees and clients. The firm invests in its people through regular training sessions and annual staff retreats.
The Role:
As a Bookkeeper/ Management Accountant, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including:
- Preparation of monthly management reports, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet statements
- Conducting variance analysis of actual results against budgets and forecasts for each profit and cost centre
- Payroll processing and superannuation management
- Cashflow forecasting and management
- Posting month-end journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts
- Supporting and executing the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
- Performing daily bank reconciliations and cashflow reporting
- Assisting with the preparation and lodgement of various tax and statutory returns, as well as audit requirements
- Supporting functions such as accounts payable, stocktake, purchasing, fixed assets, and car financing
- Providing backup support for payroll processing and maintaining accurate employee records
- Assisting the Senior Accountant, HR Manager, CFO, and broader Finance team as needed
- Handling hands-on accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks
- Communicating financial results with clients and external stakeholders
- Working with international clients on local accounting matters
- Performing basic tax compliance for associated entities
- Mentoring junior accountants and providing ongoing support to the partners

Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in Australian public practice or commercial accounting, with strong technical competence
- Some experience in management accounting within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience in business services and tax compliance would be highly regarded
- A strong focus on delivering value-added services to clients
