We comprise numerous entities as we continue to grow, we're looking for a senior bookkeeper to take ownership of our finance functions and help ensure the smooth day-to-day financial operations of the business.

Position Overview

The senior bookkeeper will be responsible for the accurate and timely management of all financial transactions and records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, ATO compliance, and regular financial reporting. This role is vital to the financial health of our business and will suit someone who is proactive, highly organised, and confident communicating with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, reconciliation, and payment follow-ups

Process weekly/fortnightly payroll, superannuation, and ensure compliance with all associated obligations (awards, entitlements, tax, etc.)

Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, and other ATO compliance obligations

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts

Manage end-of-month processes and assist in reporting to management

Liaise with external accountants, suppliers, and government bodies as required

Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and reviews

Support the management team with financial queries and reports as needed

Requirements

Minimum 5 years’ experience in bookkeeping or accounting

Strong knowledge of australian accounting and taxation requirements

Proficiency with MYOB & Xero accounting software

High attention to detail and accuracy

Proficiency in the use of Excel

Advanced inter-company and loan reconciliation skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Experience in a family-owned or small-to-medium business environment is preferred
