About the Opportunity

We're seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to become a vital part of our finance team. This role is perfect for someone with strong financial acumen and a commitment to driving continuous improvement within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

You'll play a crucial role in managing our financial operations, ensuring accuracy and contributing directly to our strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for management, including weekly snapshots, monthly Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow statements, and Budgets.

Statutory Compliance: Ensure all Australian and overseas statutory reporting obligations are met, including BAS Returns, SRO Payroll Tax, Workcover, and Superannuation.

End-to-End Cash Flow Management: Take ownership of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll processing and reconciliation within our small, collaborative finance team.

Cost Accounting Support: Assist with crucial cost accounting improvements to navigate the evolving legislative and commercial landscape of the manufacturing sector.

System Development: Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of our in-house software systems, strengthening our business and financial framework.

Quality Assurance: Support the maintenance of robust quality control systems across the organisation.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with divisional managers, banks, customers, suppliers, and external accountants.

Undertake other ad-hoc duties as required by management to support business needs.

About You

We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional who brings:

Extensive Experience: 10+ years of proven experience in bookkeeping.

Qualifications: A Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping is preferred.

Relationship Building: A demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with team members and external stakeholders.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Integrity: A strong commitment to ethical practices and good corporate governance.

Strategic Thinking: Strong planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with an innovative mindset.

Regulatory Understanding: A solid grasp of the regulatory environment relevant to our industry.

System Savvy: Understanding of ERP systems and their importance in a manufacturing context.

Analytical Acumen: The ability to apply skills in business analysis and risk management.
