Queensland apprentices who have had their apprenticeships cancelled can register for career, training, financial, and job search support via the Queensland Out of Trade Register Program. The public name for this service is Trade Apprentices.

The Trade Apprentices team has a need for an additional member responsible for outbound stakeholder engagement.

This role is primarily responsible for:

Providing regular information and promotional support to Queensland's vocational education stakeholder networks. Advising this network of the Trade Apprentices service and supports, and

Promoting the service to employers and their networks. Assisting employers to engage with apprentices who are registered with Trade Apprentices and seeking recommencement in their chosen apprenticeship.

Your days will be filled with new and reoccurring meetings with key vocational education stakeholders and employers. The expectation is that you will be "out" more than you are "in", and the success of the role will be defined by how successful you are at getting in front of key stakeholders.

Although Trade Apprentices is a free service for apprentices and employers; getting the message out isn't always as easy as it seems.

This role will suit candidates who can demonstrate a high understanding of the working relationships the following organisations have to cancelled apprentices and the support offered by the Trade Apprentices service.

Apprentice Connect Australia Providers

Group Training Organisations (GTO)

Employer Groups & Industry Associations, and

Registered Training Organisations (RTO).

You will also have some responsibility for:

Taking and responding to inbound telephone, web, social media & email queries

Information and data management

Promotions and marketing

Workflow and process design, and

Administration and reporting.

We are seeking candidates with:

Recent employment experience and existing stakeholder networks in vocational education & training

Independent ability to plan, manage & measure their own work in order to achieve outcomes in an autonomous environment

Highly developed interpersonal skills that engage multiple stakeholders representing a variety of industries and communities

Highly developed written skills to produce reports and stakeholder correspondence

Public speaking skills enabling them to present to large groups (up to 100)

High degree of digital literacy enabling them to use technology and communications platforms, office software, web applications, databases, and social media

Open class Queensland drivers license with no restrictions, and

A remote or home office environment suitable to perform the role.

The regional focus of the role is South East Queensland. The position is a remote role providing you with the flexibility to work from home with supplied tools of trade including a fully maintained motor vehicle.

The role will report to the Executive Officer - Apprentice Employment Network, but contribute and collaborate as a member of the small Trade Apprentices team.

Other members of this team are providing apprentice registration, counselling, marketing, and tech / web support. You should expect to meet with this team on the Gold Coast regularly in the early stages of the role.

Trade Apprentices is managed by Apprentice Employment Network and funded by Department of Trade Employment & Training (DTET).
