Office Manager – International Education Sector
Full-Time | AUD $140,000 - $150,000 per annum (plus super) | Sydney (Head Office)
Are you an experienced and highly organized professional with a strong background in office management within a dynamic, international environment? The Next Education is hiring a premier education consultancy that facilitates international student admissions to top Australian universities and colleges. We are seeking an Office Manager to oversee the efficient functioning of our head office in Sydney. With established operations across Australia, Nepal, the Philippines, Vietnam, and India, this role is crucial to our growing global network.
About the Role:
This is not a typical administrative role—the position of Office Manager is a pivotal, high-responsibility function, reporting directly to senior leadership within the company.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all administrative and operational processes across the business, including managing office resources, coordinating communications with clients, sub-agents, branch offices, and universities/colleges, and ensuring overall operational efficiency and compliance.
Due to the highly specialized nature of this role within an international education context, only candidates with substantial experience working in large, multi-country education agencies should apply. The Next Education operates in various jurisdictions, and this position requires fluency in international office management practices and a strong understanding of operational rules and compliance policies relevant to countries such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, and Vietnam. This is a role for someone who can walk in, take full ownership, and navigate complex operational landscapes with multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to the strategic development and review of office administration services, establishing clear priorities and high standards for all office operations within our international education consultancy.
Strategically allocate personnel, physical space, and essential equipment to optimize efficiency across all departments, particularly those engaging with international clients and branch offices.
Direct and guide administrative support staff, assigning tasks related to student inquiries, admissions processing, and partner liaison, while closely monitoring their performance to ensure productivity and adherence to company standards.
Oversee and maintain comprehensive office records, including documentation related to student applications, university agreements, and communications with our global network, in addition to managing office financial accounts and petty cash.
Serve as the primary liaison for internal departments and external professionals, including university partners and vendors, coordinating office activities and facilitating the prompt resolution of any operational challenges.
Ensure that all office equipment is fully functional and regularly maintained, and manage inventory and procurement of necessary supplies, including marketing materials and student kits for international distribution.
Uphold and enforce all occupational health and safety regulations within the Sydney head office, creating a secure and compliant working environment for all staff.
Guarantee that all office operations align with relevant governmental legislation, company policies, and established procedures, particularly those pertaining to the international education sector in Australia.
Coordinate a range of human resources activities for office and administrative staff, including assisting with recruitment processes, managing promotions, conducting performance reviews, overseeing payroll submissions, and facilitating training and supervision.
Essential Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of proven office management experience in a multi-national education agency or similar organization.
Proven understanding of office administration best practices and international operational coordination, particularly within Asia-Pacific regions.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and office management CRM and softwares/tools.
Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume administrative tasks and coordinate operations across multiple branches or international teams.
High level of professional communication skills to effectively liaise with directors, education partners, international students, and university administration.
Strong ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and make strategic decisions in a fast-paced and dynamic international environment.
What We Offer:
Competitive senior salary: AUD $140,000 - $150,000 + superannuation.
Work directly with international stakeholders and senior leadership.
High-impact role with growth opportunities to higher level executive roles.
Dynamic and multicultural work culture.
Flexible work arrangements where appropriate.
Ready to contribute to the smooth operations of a leading international education consultancy? Be part of something bigger – help manage the administrative heartbeat of a global education business!
