Credit Manager | Develop Fitness Industry Credit Control Solutions
Wellness Department is an established and rapidly expanding fitness group based in Sydney, known for our innovative approach to health and wellness services. We are now seeking an experienced Credit Manager to join our team to build and lead our credit and collections services division, supporting both our business and other fitness providers with effective credit control solutions.
About the Role
As Credit Manager, you will oversee and develop our accounts receivable and debt recovery operations. This role is pivotal in building a scalable credit control service that will serve not only Wellness Department but also external fitness businesses seeking professional collection solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing daily credit control and collections operations
Developing and implementing effective credit policies and procedures
Assessing client creditworthiness and managing risk exposure
Negotiating payment plans and resolving overdue accounts professionally
Preparing and analysing credit reports, collection performance, and aged debt summaries
Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cash flow and reduce bad debts
Strategically positioning the Wellness Department to offer collection services as a revenue stream to other fitness providers
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
✔️ Minimum 5 years’ experience in mortgage lending or credit management (essential)
✔️ Certificate IV in Finance & Mortgage Broking (essential)
✔️ Previous lending authority (desirable)
✔️ Proven success in designing and delivering training programs within a collections or credit setting
✔️ Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect and build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
✔️ A strong commitment to exceed customer expectations through professional and solution-focused service
✔️ Good computer skills, including experience using CRM platforms and MS Office
✔️ A deep understanding of compliance frameworks relevant to credit and collections, such as AFSL, AML/CTF, Privacy, and ASIC/ACCC regulations
✔️ Experience in financial services or a regulated collections environment (highly regarded)
