About the Role
An excellent opportunity for a learning-oriented individual who enjoys task variety and supporting a small team of experts within Governance, Legal & Risk.
Reporting to the Coordinator Risk & Assurance, your role is primarily accountable to assist the coordination of the City’s insurance activities, programs and initiatives; and assist the delivery of the Risk Management Framework to support the achievement of corporate objectives and providing operational support to the Risk Management team.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and customers, the Risk and Insurance Officer will also be responsible for the following duties:
- Coordinates and administers insurance claims to finality, ensuring that service delivery is timely, effective and efficient and meets both customer needs and corporate standards.
- Coordinates the City’s insurance activities, programs and initiatives, including policy review and renewal, ensuring cost effective insurance coverage and efficient transfer of risk.
- Prepares high quality and accurate reports on insurance matters that enables fully informed and timely decision-making.
- Provides assistance to the Senior Risk and Assurance Officer for the corporate risk advisory service, including but not limited to new initiatives and programs, projects, risk and change reviews, review of risk registers, completion of reports, routine correspondence, creating, compiling and distributing documents as well as the collection of data in accordance with the City’s Risk Framework and relevant legislation.
- Maintains relevant registers, databases and systems, ensuring that information is accurate, stored correctly and accessible as required and meets legislative requirements.
- Contributes to the development of processes and procedures that support the work of the Service Unit.
- Assists the administration tasks in the general running of the Service Unit.
About You
You will possess the majority of the following skills and experience:
- Qualification in relevant discipline such as business administration or relevant experience.
- Relevant experience in a similar role is required.
- Intermediate experience in the efficient utilisation of information systems and technology.
- Relevant experience or formal qualifications in risk management, business or compliance.
- Competency in applications such as Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced customer service skills.
- Analytical problem-solving skills.
