Fixed Term (December 2026) Part Time Position (34 hours per fortnight)
Salary: $74,475 - $84,026 per annum (pro rata) + shift loadings + 12% super

Our Community Safety and Parking team provides front-facing services throughout the City, helping to keep our residents and visitors safe, so they can enjoy this amazing place.
Key responsibilities include:
Assist in ensuring effective and efficient delivery of Community Safety Services in the City of Fremantle.
Carry out enforcement of Local and State Laws in line with relevant legislation, procedures and practices, ensuring compliance.
Conduct pro-active high visibility patrols and provide a response capability to Community Safety Team
Attend to and resolve complaints in a professional and timely manner.
Assist and contribute towards Community Safety initiatives and projects as required.
Act as an escalation point for incidents requiring assistance from emergency services or support agencies.
Promote and role model excellence in customer service in compliance with the City of Fremantle Customer Service Charter.
Ensure protocols for prosecutions are adhered to, including but not limited to evidence management, reporting, and trial requirements.
Document relevant interactions, prepare reports and communicate appropriately.
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, such as WA Police, for the safety of the Fremantle Community.
Other duties as directed from time to time.
About you:
Highly effective and proven communication, and interpersonal skills.
ROCS1 and ROCS2 qualifications.
In-depth knowledge of relevant laws and legislation.
Demonstrated experience in a front-line community facing role.
Demonstrated ability in conducting investigations, detailed report writing and preparing files for prosecution at court.
Proven ability to make critical decisions under pressure and apply problem-solving skills to resolve complex situations.
Intermediate computer literacy and experience using Microsoft Suite.
Possession of a current and unencumbered Western Australian “C” class driver’s licence.
Current First Aid Certification.
Ability to obtain and maintain police clearance.
Ability to work 34 hours per fortnight including shifts on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
