About the Role
Reporting to the Coordinator Risk & Assurance , your role is primarily accountable for assisting with the development and delivery of Risk Management Framework to support the achievement of corporate objectives and providing operational support to the Risk Management team.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and customers, the Senior Risk & Support Assurance Officer will also be responsible for the following duties:
- Assist the implementation and maintain the City's Risk Management Framework to eliminate or minimise risk exposure including the review and testing of controls and actions within the risk registers.
- Provides advice, guidance and support on matters related to Strategic, Corporate and Operational risk management to promote a positive risk culture, in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Conducts and supports risk workshops and assessments to ensure compliant with relevant obligations and the City's framework, policies, procedures and recommends appropriate actions.
- Maintains relevant registers, databases and systems, ensuring that Strategic, Corporate and Operational risk information is accurate, stored correctly and accessible as required.
- Prepares reports on risk matters that enables fully informed and timely decision-making.
- Coordinates the review and monitoring of Crisis Management Plan and Business Continuity plans for the City.
- Contributes to the development of risk systems, processes and procedures.
- Assists the administration tasks in the general running of the Service Unit.
About You
You will possess the majority of the following skills and experience:
- Relevant experience or formal qualifications in risk management, business or compliance.
- Competency in applications such as Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience in administrative, financial processes and continuous improvement.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
- Local government experience (desirable but not essential)
