About the role:
Are you passionate about reading, and making a positive impact in people's lives? Join our Community and Library Services team as a permanent part-time (38 hours per fortnight) Information Officer based at Midland Public Library, where you'll play a vital role in connecting our diverse community and helping them to access information and resources.
This role will act as the first point of contact for all Library information and City of Swan information or to access City services offered from Place. Customer contact will be face to face, over the phone or supporting online contact and will process financial transactions, including rates and other Council payments.
In addition, this position supports specialist staff in the promotion and delivery of programs and activities that supports literacy, community learning and inclusion. We're looking for someone who brings fresh perspectives and values community engagement, literacy and equity.
Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Act as the first point of contact and provide excellent customer service to library users of all ages and backgrounds
- Support access to library resources, including digital technologies
- Support specialist staff and assist in the planning and delivery of programs and events
- Promote library services that enhance community wellbeing and learning
- Contribute to an inclusive and welcoming environment
- Process financial transactions, including rates and other Council payments, and reconcile accounts in accordance with relevant procedures

The successful candidate will have the following:
- Relevant qualification and/or relevant experience
- A willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate
- C Class Driver Licence
- Excellent customer service skills with experience within a fast-paced customer service environment
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated experience working within a team
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office, computers and technology
About working with us:
The salary for this position will be from $66,169.68 - $71,294.82 annum pro rata, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
