Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the role of Director of Human Resources Strategy and Operations is a key leadership position, providing high level human resource expertise and leadership advice that positively contributes to our strategic direction and values and enhances employee engagement. You will play a key role in developing and driving our people and workplace strategy that influences organisational change, continuous improvement, policy building and capacity building. Leading a small team you will provide operational support in all matters relating to people management, employee relations and performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Professional expert advice and assistance to the CEO, Managers, and staff on a broad range of Human Resource and Administrative related matters.
• Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership and mentoring practices and role modelling of appropriate behaviours.
• Experience in supporting First Nations women in the workforce
• Development, review and implementation of Human Resource, WHS and Administrative policies, processes, and procedures.
• Management and coordination of recruitment activities across WoSSCA.
• Promote continuous learning and development opportunities for staff.
• Work with the CEO and managers to forecast staffing needs and develop staffing plans in alignment with budget and funding requirements.
• Provide strategic leadership to the WHS Committee to ensure compliance with all statutory legislation and that our WHS practices are fit for purpose.
• Analyse workforce and service delivery data to identify trends, contribute to workforce and service strategies and facilitate reporting.
• Develop and implement the WoSSCA Learning and Development strategy.
• Assist with achieving quality management objectives across the organisation.
• Assistance to the CEO with Board co-ordination and reporting.
• Assistance to the CEO with reporting on funding agreements.
• Other duties as required by the CEO.
Selection Criteria:
1. Degree/significant expertise in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
2. Proven experience in people and culture management, preferably in a not-for-profit or community services context.
3. Knowledge of relevant employment legislation and best-practice.
4. Proven experience in supporting First Nations women in accessing and remaining in the workforce.
5. Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development, delivery and assessment of training and human services development projects.
6. Previous experience in reporting and data analysis – workforce and/or service provision
7. Proven track record of building trusted relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
8. Demonstrated leadership, influencing and collaboration skills and the ability to drive change.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. An awareness, understanding and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and the ability and experience to communicate on matters relevant to the delivery of HR and WoSSCA services.
11. Significant experience in driving organisational change and leading complex projects and teams.
