About the role
As a Community and Recreation Bookings Officer, you’ll be the first point of contact for all casual and regular bookings of community and recreation spaces - ensuring seamless service delivery to local residents, sporting groups, schools, and event organisers.
Your role will help activate community spaces, support inclusion, and enhance community wellbeing.
Reporting to the Manager Community Development, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Manage bookings for Council’s community halls, sportsgrounds, parks, and recreational facilities
- Respond to public enquiries via phone, email, and online booking systems
- Coordinate usage schedules and permits with internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with the implementation of hire agreements, policies, and procedures
- Work collaboratively with other Council departments to ensure the upkeep and accessibility of facilities
Required qualifications, experience & skills:
- Relevant post-secondary qualifications in administration, community, cultural, or recreation fields
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence
- At least 2 years’ experience in a bookings, clerical, or administrative role
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Experience coordinating events, recreational programs, or community projects
- Experience managing website content
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint
- Experience with Council systems such as TechnologyOne, Property and Rating, Content Manager, and bookings software
