PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Senior Program Manager, Pacific will support ABV’s Pacific program portfolio, which is focused on ABV’s strategic pillar: Strong MSME Sector in the Pacific. Working closely with a diverse team of ABV and local partner staff and Skilled Business Professionals who volunteer their time and expertise, ABV’s Pacific programs focus on:

· MSME capability building – inclusive approach, building resilience and support networks

· System strengthening – through government, institutional and private sector improvements

· Investment readiness – supporting business compliance and readiness in order to increase access to responsible finance

This role involves collaborating and engaging with a range of stakeholders, including corporates, governmental agencies, ministries and departments, local businesses, industry associations, CSOs/NGOs and multilateral agencies, to assist in the development and implementation of locally-led initiatives. The objectives of this role are to:

· Support the achievement of the aims and outcomes of ABV’s strategic pillar, Strong MSME Sector in the Pacific.

· Develop and sustain sound, collaborative working relationships with ABV staff, skilled volunteers and local partners to achieve optimal outcomes for Pacific MSMEs and communities.

· Network, collaborate and engage with relevant sector stakeholders to streamline support for MSMEs and promote sustainable and inclusive economic development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES OF THE POSITION

· Manage the effective delivery and day-to-day operations of assigned Pacific programs, including team management, volunteer and local partner coordination and management, and MEL Framework implementation.

· Deliver on agreed program activities, managing to budget and schedule throughout the project life cycle, maintaining compliance with all relevant policies, processes, and procedures, as well as identifying and managing risks, escalating to Head of Pacific Operations as required.

· Ensure program and financial reporting requirements for both ABV and our partners are completed in an accurate and timely manner.

· Support the development of an effective Pacific team (volunteers and staff) to achieve optimal outcomes for ABV’s programs and partnerships.

· Act as a key relationship holder for assigned Pacific partnerships and stakeholders to support the effective delivery of ABV’s programs/projects as well as strengthening cross-sector collaboration contributing to an enabling ecosystem for MSMEs.

· Work closely with Volunteering Team to support Pacific volunteer planning, management and oversight including forecasting, recruitment, program onboarding, in-country support, troubleshooting/performance management and debriefs/reviews.

· Work closely with Partnerships Team to support business development activities, including scoping opportunities and background research, development of concept notes/proposals and budgets, and representing ABV at relevant regional events and/or workshops as required.

· Work closely with Marketing, Communications and Events team to support activities, including case studies, reports/presentations, data collection, photos, and other collateral for ABV and partner communications, events and social media.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential Requirements

· Formal qualifications in a relevant field e.g., community or international development, social work or similar.

· Six or more years’ experience in project management including design, planning, scheduling, budgeting, monitoring, reporting and evaluation.

· High level financial understanding including budgeting, revenue and costs.

· Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to achieve buy-in from all stakeholders and achieve agreed outcomes.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timeframes, troubleshoot, and to meet short- and long-term deadlines.

· Comfortable working online and competent in use of online collaboration and project management tools.

· Able to work remotely from line manager, with a high degree of autonomy.

· Willingness to work out of business hours as required, within reason and to travel for extended periods domestically and internationally as required to meet role requirements.

· Experience working cross culturally, especially in the Pacific region.

· Work Rights & Eligibility: Must be based in Australia and have full-time work rights.

Desired Requirements

· Experience in community engagement, mediation, facilitation, diplomacy and/or advocacy or a closely related field.

· Experience in volunteer management.

· Understanding of climate change adaptation and disaster resilience in the Pacific context.
