Full-Time Permanent

Pinaroo Roma Inc. Aged Care Facility is situated in Roma, Queensland and is currently seeking an enthusiastic, creative and fully qualified chef to join our team.

Roster: 76 hrs. per fortnight over various days and hours including weekends and public holidays as rostered, for all meal service.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Supervise a busy kitchen

Responsible for ordering and maintaining adequate stock and stock controls

Ability to plan and manage a food service budget

Ability to ensure a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the meal area

Menu planning in accordance with resident care plans and meal requirements in conjunction with Dietician review

Staff rostering

Maintain and update current policies and procedures for the catering department

Work effectively as a team while enforcing quality and hygiene standards

Ability to supervise, train and mentor catering staff members

Keep food at optimal temperatures during all stages of cooking and storage.

To be successful in the role you will need possess.

Strong WH&S awareness

Certificate 4 in Commercial Cookery and Food Safety Supervisor certificate are essential.

3 years of work experience as a Chef

Experience in menu planning and cooking for large numbers of people

Experience in meal planning and cooking for the elderly would be an advantage

Ability to communicate with various stakeholders

Efficient in the use of computers including programs such as excel, word, outlook, and internet.

Previous experience in a similar position, preferably within Aged Care

It is essential that your communication skills are excellent and that you have strong commitment and dedication to your career and a passion for food

Ability to pass a police check

Salary: $77,500 - $85,000 + superannuation
