Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Estimator - Perth, WA

Our client, a leading Cost Consultancy firm based in Perth, is dedicated to delivering high-quality cost management services with a strong commitment to excellence, integrity, and innovation. With over 20 years of experience servicing the Mining, Infrastructure, and Oil & Gas sectors, they are seeking a talented E&I Estimator to join their dynamic team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality E&I estimating and quantity surveying services that meet or exceed client expectations.
• Serve as a key point of contact between clients, consultants, and internal engineering teams, particularly for electrical and instrumentation scope.
• Lead and contribute to the development of detailed Basis of Estimate (BOE) reports and comprehensive E&I cost assessments.
• Identify and communicate cost risks, scope gaps, and potential contractual concerns related to E&I systems.
• Take ownership of your work, consistently delivering to a high professional standard.
• Support and mentor junior staff, sharing technical knowledge in E&I systems and estimating practices.
• Monitor and manage your project hours and ensure all tasks stay within budget.
• Ensure every E&I-related estimate and report adheres to the firm's quality and procedural standards.
• Provide commercial input on E&I-specific claims, contracts, and project risks.
• Contribute to the successful delivery of projects through effective cost planning, forecasting, and close-out processes.
• Review and validate the quality and accuracy of all E&I estimating deliverables prior to client submission.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

• A degree or trade qualification in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years' experience in cost estimating, with at least 3+ years in E&I estimating roles within the mining, energy, or heavy industrial sectors.
• Strong working knowledge of E&I systems: cable routing, instrumentation loops, switchboards, control systems, hazardous area equipment, and installation practices.
• Previous experience in electrical and instrumentation cost estimation is essential.
• A strong understanding of project execution, including construction processes, installation sequencing, materials, and pricing in E&I scopes.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Benchmark, Candy, CostX) and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with planning tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both internal teams and external clients.
• Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
• A collaborative and proactive approach to teamwork, capable of mentoring and contributing to team growth.
