About Our Client
Our client is a trusted name in industrial automation and control systems, known for delivering highly engineered solutions that power smarter factories and production lines. They support a diverse customer base across FMCG, food & beverage, materials handling, packaging machinery, and other manufacturing sectors.
From programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and HMI/SCADA systems to complete control panel solutions, they bring intelligence and precision to industrial automation. Now, due to ongoing demand, they’re looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to join their Melbourne team and help drive customer success.
About The Role
In this client-facing, solution-led role, you’ll work closely with engineering and operations teams across a range of industrial clients—scoping out problems, recommending PLC and control solutions, and guiding deals from first contact through to delivery.
You’ll combine deep technical knowledge with commercial insight to win trust and deliver tailored outcomes.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing and growing a portfolio of industrial clients across Victoria
Recommending, specifying, and selling PLC-based automation systems (e.g. Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron)
Deliver on-site product demonstrations, consultations, and technical presentations
Collaborating with in-house engineers and channel partners on scoping, quoting, and system integration
Identifying new project opportunities and build long-term strategic partnerships
Staying on top of industry and technology trends to add value and insight
About You
As the successful candidate for this role, you will be a hands-on, technically minded sales engineer who thrives on solving problems and delivering real value to customers. Whether it’s a process bottleneck or a full system upgrade, you know how to engage clients, ask the right questions, and guide them to the best-fit automation solution.
Additionally, you will bring:
Experience in technical sales, solutions engineering, or industrial automation
Strong working knowledge of PLC systems (Siemens, Rockwell, Allen-Bradley, Omron, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret control/electrical schematics
Excellent communication skills and confidence working with technical and commercial stakeholders
Engineering qualifications in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Automation (highly regarded)
Salary & Benefits
$100,000 to $120,000 + Super + Car Allowance + Uncapped Commissions
