The Shire of Capel is seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to join us as our Environmental Health Coordinator. Through diligent assessment, management and resolution of public health and environmental concerns, this is a fantastic opportunity to help ensure our community’s health and wellbeing.

As the Environmental Health Coordinator, you will lead the Shire’s public health planning, ensuring the community’s health and environmental wellbeing through a proactive and preventative approach.

• Base annual salary $98,000 – $103,000 per annum dependent on skills, experience, and qualifications

To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate:
• Behaviour that positively demonstrates the Shire’s HEART of: Honesty, Empathy, Accountability, Respect and Teamwork
• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health, or equivalent
• Eligibility to be an ‘authorised officer’ in WA under the Public Health Act 2016
• Sound knowledge of Public Health Act 2016 and other relevant legislation.
• Exposure to multidisciplinary regulatory environments within local government processes
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Strong report writing skills
• Demonstrated research and evaluation skills
• Computer skills in MS Office (Int/Adv in Word & Excel)
• Current C class driver’s licence

Involvement in the development of a local public health plan and experience in emergency management, response and recovery will be highly regarded.
