The Team
The Regulatory Services Branch is embarking on a bold new strategic vision and is seeking dynamic, driven individuals to join them on this transformative journey. With a strong focus on delivering enhanced, effective and efficient environmental, community, regulatory and public health services, the Branch has established a number of new roles to support this vision.
The Ranger and Community Safety team is dedicated to the safety and wellbeing of the Town’s residents, community, businesses and visitors and their access to amenities by administering a suite of legislation, policies and procedures. These include, but are not limited to animal management, bushfire control, graffiti, litter, parking and other matters controlled by local laws. The Role
The Town is seeking an experienced, proactive leader to fill the position of Coordinator Ranger Services and Community Safety who will play a key role in advancing the strategic vision of the Regulatory Services Branch. In this role you will ensure the effective and efficient provision of the ranger services, community safety and crime prevention initiatives, in accordance with legislation, policies, and the Town’s strategic plans, in order to increase community safety and compliance. Selection Criteria
The successful candidate’s core values will mirror the Town’s values of Friendly and helpful, Teamwork, Creativity, Integrity, and Respect, and be able to demonstrate the following:
Demonstrated supervisory experience leading a team in a similar regulatory enforcement environment is essential.
Extensive experience in an investigatory, compliance and/or enforcement role with a high proficiency for interpreting, applying and enforcing relevant State legislation, Local Laws, and policies.
Strong problem solving and negotiation skills in order to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders in order to obtain appropriate and compliant outcomes.
Demonstrated experience to coordinate and manage complex regulatory investigations, gathering evidence, and taking enforcement action including criminal court proceedings.
Basic traffic management accreditation and First Aid certification is desirable.
Essential:
Current “C” Class Drivers Licence and National Police Clearance not older than 3 months (essential).
Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) and completion of the Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills (ROCS) 1 and 2 is essential
