Highly capable Senior Development Manager will be driving complex, large-scale developments across Sydney. This role sits at the forefront of precinct-scale development spanning strategy, planning, design, and delivery with a strong focus on governance, sustainability, and community outcomes.

About the Role
This role has two levels, tailored to your expertise. You will lead the planning, stakeholder engagement, approvals, consultant management, financial modelling and delivery strategy for complex development projects from concept through to handover.
You’ll work with internal teams, local and state government, and community groups to deliver housing, infrastructure, and urban outcomes that are sustainable, financially sound, and aligned with broader strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead urban transformation projects across the full development lifecycle.
- Manage consultants and contractors — from tender through performance
- Drive planning strategies, DAs, rezonings, LEP amendments, and approvals
- Build and manage relationships with stakeholders, councils, utilities and state agencies
- Implement risk, WHS, and compliance frameworks
- Undertake feasibility modelling and financial performance assessments
- Regularly report on cost, risk and delivery to steering groups and stakeholders
- Coach and mentor Development Managers and project staff
- Lead performance development, project excellence and delivery culture
- Conduct high-level risk forecasting and financial scenario analysis
- Oversee complex governance documentation, funding strategies and delivery frameworks
About You
- Minimum 5–10 years' experience in Development Management or major project delivery
- Tertiary qualifications in property, planning, construction, architecture, or engineering
- Strong understanding of government planning systems and local/state frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholders and precinct-level strategy
- Proven experience managing consultant teams and development approval processes
- Advanced skills in feasibility modelling, risk management, and commercial strategy
- Confident in preparing high-quality documentation for executive/government reporting
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, capable of building trust and navigating change
