The City of Wanneroo is seeking a skilled and proactive HRIS Administrator to join our People and Culture team and play a pivotal role in enhancing our HR systems landscape.
About the Role
As the HRIS Administrator, you’ll be the go-to expert for the administration, optimisation, and continuous improvement of our Human Resources Information System (HRIS). You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure our systems are efficient, secure, and aligned with organisational needs. You will support other people related systems to ensure seamless and accurate data reporting and analytics and always be looking to maximise efficiencies.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Administering and maintaining HRIS modules and workflows.
• Supporting system upgrades, patches, and integrations.
• Delivering accurate data analytics and reporting.
• Educating and upskilling HRIS users across the organisation.
• Collaborating with IT and People & Culture to drive innovation and process improvement.
About You
You’re more than just a systems expert — you’re a strategic thinker, a trusted advisor, and a champion for smarter, more efficient HR processes. With a strong foundation in HRIS administration and a passion for leveraging technology to improve employee experiences, you bring both technical know-how and a people-first mindset.
You thrive in dynamic environments, where your ability to juggle competing priorities, solve complex problems, and communicate clearly makes you an invaluable team member. You’re not afraid to challenge the status quo, and you’re always looking for ways to improve systems, streamline workflows, and deliver meaningful insights through data.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
• Technical expertise in HRIS platforms, with a deep understanding of system configuration, data integrity, and reporting. The City currently uses TechnologyOne, SAI360 and BigRedSky
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and build strong relationships across the organisation.
• A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work closely with HR, IT, and external vendors to deliver seamless system enhancements and support.
• A proactive and adaptable approach, ready to embrace change, manage multiple priorities, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
• A commitment to confidentiality and professionalism, with a keen eye for detail and a drive to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Specific skills and experience we are looking for:
• Formal qualifications in Information Technology or a related field.
• At least 2 years of HRIS administration experience or related HR experience.
• Advanced knowledge of HRIS functionality, data analysis, and reporting.
• Experience with employee lifecycle management, performance, and learning systems.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and change management skills.
• A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Experience educating and upskilling HRIS Users and liaising with the broader organisation to support User functionality.
• Excellent planning and organising skills in managing and executing multiple concurrent workstreams of change with ability to set priorities and meet deadlines to ensure timely delivery of business outcomes.
