The Youth Advocacy Centre (YAC) is seeking a dedicated and proactive Administration Assistant to support our Youth Support Program team. This is a permanent full-time role based in South Brisbane, with the option to work from home up to two days per week for the right person.
You'll play a key part in our team, providing essential administrative support and managing our welcoming front desk — a role where your professionalism, care, and attention to detail will have real impact.
About the Role
Join YAC as an Administration Assistant, providing essential support to our Youth Support Program Coordinators to ensure the effective delivery of our services. In addition to a variety of administrative tasks (including intake calls), you will manage our reception area, handling phone calls, greeting visitors, and responding to general email inquiries. Each day brings new challenges as you support the day to day administration of a busy, meaningful organisation.

You’re a capable and experienced administration professional who takes pride in delivering high-quality work. You enjoy the structure and variety that admin roles offer and are confident managing competing priorities with calm and care.
You’re organised, reliable, and bring a thoughtful, proactive approach to your work. You value being part of a supportive team and are looking for a long-term role where you can make a meaningful contribution in a purpose-driven environment.
Key Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience in reception and high-level administration support
Certificate II or III in Business Administration (desirable, but not essential)
Valid “C” Class Driver’s Licence
Ability to obtain a positive QLD Working with Children Check (“Blue Card”)
Australian citizenship or permanent residency
Skills and Attributes:
Proficiency in reception and office administration systems
Advanced computer literacy, including confidence using Microsoft Office and databases
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Conflict resolution skills and the ability to support individuals who may be in distress
Proactive approach to identifying and suggesting improvements to processes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds
Ability to work both collaboratively within a team and independently when required
A strong commitment to social justice and human rights, particularly in supporting children and young people
