Join a Leading National Logistics Organisation Driving Payroll Transformation

Our client, a major player in the logistics and supply chain industry, is undergoing a significant payroll and wage compliance transformation.

As a Payroll Business Analyst, you will play a key role in digging into the data, ensuring compliance, identifying risks, and supporting payroll remediation initiatives.

To support this transformation, we’re hiring a second Payroll Business Analyst to work alongside the current BA who is 1 month into the role.

She is an accomplished payroll data expert already making a big impact, and you’ll work together on remediation strategy, compliance governance, and systems integration across multiple platforms.

This role is ideal for someone with a payroll operations or analyst background, who thrives in a project-based setting and enjoys getting into the data.

You'll be part of a close-knit team reporting into a supportive Program Director, with direct access to high-level project decisions and impactful work.

Key Responsibilities -

  • Wage Compliance & Payroll Remediation -
  • Analyse large payroll datasets, identify compliance gaps, and support reconciliation and remediation planning.
  • Liaise with external audit and compliance partners to provide payroll data and responses.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify areas for payroll process improvements.
  • Present insights and risks clearly to stakeholders, with strong documentation and process mapping.
  • Support the design and implementation of remediation plans where required.
  • Ensure alignment with payroll legislation, award interpretation, and Fair Work compliance.

  • Payroll Systems & Data Analysis -
  • Work closely with payroll and HR teams to provide insights into payroll data and compliance gaps.
  • Support payroll system implementations, particularly in Preceda, ADP, Kronos and UKG Pro (or similar Time & Attendance systems).
  • Assist with payroll testing and verification to ensure accuracy of payroll outputs.
  • Develop payroll reports and insights using Excel, PowerBI, or other reporting tools.
  • Assist with UAT, testing, data transformation, and reporting (Excel/Power BI).

  • Project Support & Business Engagement -
  • Assist in implementing a future-state wage-compliant payroll system, ensuring a seamless transition.
  • Support payroll transformation projects by aligning system rules, automation, and compliance reporting.
  • Work closely with Industrial Relations, Payroll, and HR teams to ensure smooth execution of payroll projects.
  • Track project actions, engage stakeholders, and provide reporting updates.

Key Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven payroll business analysis experience, with a strong focus on compliance, payroll remediation, and payroll system implementations.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and reporting tools like PowerBI - data cleansing, audit, and validation expertise is a must
  • Experience with payroll data testing, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to summarise complex payroll issues for non technical stakeholders.
  • Autonomous, proactive and able to hit the ground running with minimal guidance
  • Knowledge of Preceda, ADP, Kronos, UKG Pro, or similar payroll and time & attendance systems.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, working with Payroll, HR, Industrial Relations, and external auditors.

Why Join?
• Drive payroll transformation in a major national organisation.
• Hybrid work model – 3-4 days in office, 1-2 day from home.
• Career growth opportunities within payroll compliance and transformation
projects.
• Engaging, fast-paced environment with a supportive team.
