Position Overview
The Engagement Officer Lead plays a vital role in fostering meaningful connections between EDHCS Disability Services and its participants, families, and external stakeholders. This position is fully responsible for managing the overall engagement process, ensuring participants feel heard, valued, and supported.
The Engagement Officer Lead will oversee onboarding new participants, maintain regular communication with stakeholders, and seek feedback to enhance service quality. Additionally, they will supervise Community Participation Support Workers, ensuring they receive the necessary support in their roles.
Key Responsibilities
1. Participant Engagement & Feedback Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for all participants, ensuring regular and meaningful engagement.
Conduct weekly check-ins with participants and external stakeholders to gather feedback about EDHCS services.
Visit SIL houses and Community Support Clients to engage with participants face-to-face, ensuring they feel heard and supported.
Identify participant concerns or service gaps and escalate them to the Service Delivery Manager for resolution.
Maintain a feedback log and ensure all concerns or suggestions are followed up on promptly.
2. Onboarding New Participants
Manage the end-to-end onboarding process for new participants, ensuring a seamless transition into EDHCS services.
Liaise with participants, family members, and external stakeholders to ensure their needs and expectations are met.
Provide clear information about EDHCS services, policies, and support structures.
Ensure that all onboarding documentation is completed, submitted, and stored accurately.
3. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Build and maintain strong relationships with participants, families, carers, and external partners.
Provide regular updates to stakeholders regarding participant progress and any relevant service changes.
Act as a liaison between participants and the EDHCS team, ensuring open and effective communication.
Work collaboratively with internal teams to address any participant concerns promptly.
4. Supervision & Support of Community Participation Support Workers
Oversee and support Community Participation Support Workers, ensuring they are engaged and well-supported.
Conduct monthly supervision meetings with staff, providing guidance, addressing concerns, and promoting professional development.
Ensure support workers are aligned with participant needs and EDHCS service goals.
Encourage a positive and motivated team culture, fostering professional growth and satisfaction among staff.
5. Compliance & Reporting
Ensure engagement activities align with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission standards.
Maintain accurate records of participant feedback, engagement activities, and supervision meetings.
Provide monthly reports to the Service Delivery Manager on participant engagement trends, staff well-being, and feedback insights.
Work with the management team to implement improvements based on participant and staff feedback.
Required Qualifications and Experience
1) Minimum Qualifications:
Certificate IV or higher in Disability, Community Services, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
First Aid and CPR Certificate.
Working with Children's Check
National Police check
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Completion of training in Person-Centred Practice, Trauma-Informed Care, or Positive Behaviour Support.
2)Desirable Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or similar.
3) Experience
At least 2–3 years’ experience in a similar participant-facing role within the disability or community services sector.
Experience engaging directly with clients in Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Community Support Programs.
Knowledge of NDIS systems, planning processes, and service agreements.
Experience in team supervision, including conducting performance check-ins, coaching, and supporting professional development.
Familiarity with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission standards.
Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate documentation, prepare reports, and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
