Posted 1 day ago
My client is an established and well respected company with over 30 years of experience in successfully delivering sustainable turn-key Site Preparation/Early Works Services, including Demolition, Hazmat Remediation, Bulk Earthworks, Land Remediation & On-Site Resource Recovery. They are proud to count some of Australia’s leading builders, developers, blue-chip companies, and tier one contractors amongst their clients.
Due to continuous growth and broadening scopes of work they now seek a Project Manager (Civil & Demolition) to join their existing team.
This role is open to all levels of career experience (Junior to Senior) and salary and benefits will reflect your level.
My clients contracts are awarded on the basis that they deliver a complete “get the builder out of the ground” package, encompassing demolition, hazardous materials removal, site remediation, and bulk excavation. As such, the ideal candidate must be open to managing demolition projects and willing to develop skills in this area. For applicants without direct experience in demolition or hazardous materials removal, the senior team will provide operational training and support. However, as the successful candidate you must be confident in managing clients and contracts independently from the outset. Reporting directly to the company owner and the Head of Projects you will be an ambitious Civil Project Manager with particular experience in project planning, cost estimation, quality management, and team coordination.
About You:
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related field are preferred but not essential
- Previous experience in civil bulk excavation and/or land remediation projects, particularly in roles involving project management, estimation, and site supervision.
- Knowledge or experience in full early works/site preparation packages, including demolition & site remediation, as well as a willingness and ability to work on and manage such projects.
- Strong knowledge in civil engineering principles, construction methods, and project management.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools including Procore, Workbench, Upvise, ISOpro and MS Project will be very highly regarded but not essential.
- Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects, with assistance from the management team.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong analytical, organisational, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Strong focus on safety.
The Role:
This opportunity will see the successful applicant managing various projects of different scales across the range of integrated services, from quick turnaround rail shut-downs works to multi-month early works/site preparation projects on large sites. The role will expect the successful applicant to have hands-on experience through all aspects of the projects, from bid to completion. Some of these responsibilities include:
- Estimating and/or overseeing the estimation team on civil works bids and managing the project budget.
- Developing and implementing detailed project plans, including timelines, methodologies, resource allocation, and budgeting.
- Ensuring project deliverables meet quality standards and client specifications.
- Leading and coordinating the project team, facilitating communication and collaboration.
- Managing contracts and negotiating terms and conditions.
- Identifying potential risks and developing risk mitigation strategies.
- Maintaining regular communication with clients and managing client expectations.
- Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Implementing and enforcing health and safety protocols on the project site.
Note, our client is looking to broaden their civil scope for their clients further so if you have extra skills and experience not listed here we would be very interested in talking with you.
A salary commensurate with experience will be offered and include base salary + superannuation + phone + laptop + car allowance or fully maintained company car. This role will involve some travel into Sydney and Regional NSW, however, will predominantly be based in the Newcastle/Hunter Valley region.
