Account Manager (Commercial Insurance Broker)
Melbourne CBD | Full-time | Established Brokerage | Strong Client Base | $130k + super
Our client are not your typical insurance brokerage, they are proud to be a well-established Melbourne-based firm built on integrity, genuine client partnerships, and a team-first culture. As a Steadfast broker, they continue to grow, we’re now assisting them in looking for an experienced Senior Account Manager to join the team and take ownership of a portfolio of loyal, long-term commercial clients.
About the Role:
As a Senior Account Manager, you’ll play a critical role in managing and growing a diverse portfolio of SME and mid-market commercial clients. You’ll be the go-to for risk advice, renewals, new business opportunities, and complex insurance solutions. You’ll work closely with their internal support team which includes a dedicated assistant and claims person to give you more time in your day to focus on what you're best at; providing a high level of service to clients. This role will also include some mentoring of more junior team members and this role is acting as a 2ic with the view to this being able to progress into more senior opportunities.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Manage an existing portfolio of commercial clients across a broad range of industries - around $400k
- Deliver expert risk advice and tailored insurance solutions
- Negotiate terms and cover with insurers, including renewals and new business
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, underwriters, and other partners
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal processes
- Contribute to team culture and mentor junior staff when needed
About You:
You’re an experienced commercial broker who genuinely enjoys building relationships and delivering value. You’re confident, thorough, and commercially savvy, with a deep understanding of the insurance landscape and the ability to manage complex placements with ease.
We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a commercial insurance broking role
- Tier 1 (Broking) qualification (essential)
- Strong product knowledge across SME and mid-market risks
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- A client-first mindset with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach
- Experience using broking systems (e.g., Insight, WinBEAT) preferred
