💼 The Role
This is a broad and rewarding but hands on position with responsibilities across financial management, commercial analysis, corporate governance and operational support. You’ll be a key member of the executive leadership team ensuring the financial health of the business while supporting decision-making and ongoing development. Although a small team (P.T A/R) currently, we will be looking to you to grow and develop your own team as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Management Accounting & Commercial Support
Prepare and present monthly management reports, forecasts, and budgets
Analyse performance across departments to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
Support business planning, pricing strategy, and financial modelling for new projects
Provide commercial advice on contracts, investments, and business ventures
Be a trusted advisor to directors, offering clear insights to support strategic decisions
Partner with the operations and sales teams to provide support with sales forecasts, margin analysis, reporting, scenario and business case analysis, identify profit enhancing initiatives and support with various growth initiatives
End of Month financial reviews and prepare presentations highlighting the key variance and insights to Directors
Preparation monthly management pack and present to executive team
Annual budget preparation and monthly budget adjustments and amendments to ensure profitability across all divisions
Operational Finance Oversight
Manage the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing
Manage payroll processing, superannuation, and compliance with relevant legislation
Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements
Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and financial institutions as needed
Drive improvements in financial systems, controls, and reporting processes
Family & Director Support
Provide personal accounting and financial guidance to directors and family members
Assist with investment tracking, property portfolios, and personal tax preparation
Ensure smooth handling of family-related financial matters with discretion and integrity
About You
CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent)
5+ years in a management accounting or commercial finance role
Comfortable in a broad role covering operational finance, reporting, and strategy
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with both internal teams and external advisors
A hands-on, solutions-oriented mindset
Experience in a privately-owned or mid-sized business is highly regarded
