Fantastic opportunity for an experienced network/systems manager to assume a pivotal role in the development and optimisation of Armstrong Flooring’s IT system. Having recently completed a successful migration of our ERP system from an AS400 to D365, Armstrong Flooring is looking for someone to take a key role in the next step in our digital transformation.

Armstrong Flooring is one of Australia’s oldest and leading distributors of hard flooring for both commercial and residential markets. Operating in Australia since the 1960’s, Armstrong Flooring is Australia’s only manufacturer of commercial vinyl flooring at its Braeside manufacturing facility, with national Australian and New Zealand sales teams.

Having recently been purchased by a well known Australian family, the business is undergoing a digital transformation during a period of rapid growth in the Australian and New Zealand flooring market and requires an enthusiastic network/systems manager to assume responsibility for the analysis, design and development of Armstrong Flooring’s IT system, ensuring its stable and effective operation.

The Role

Your duties will include:

Ensuring the stable operation of Armstrong Flooring’s IT systems network (including hardware, software and communication links) ensuring sound internal controls and robust security including design and planning of the network; developing, installing, configuring LANs, WANs, network segments, internet/intranet operations and network applications including hardware and software; maintaining, supporting and optimising the network including monitoring network efficiency and maintaining effective security measures and undertaking upgrades and repairs to improve capabilities; modifying the performance of network systems as and when required; expanding the network

Providing IT help support to users and troubleshoot escalated technical issues

In consultation with the Supply Chain Department, arranging for the sourcing of all hardware and other IT and communications equipment

Managing vendors and suppliers that provide hardware and technology and technology related services

Providing oversight of a variety of IT functions including: application support & maintenance, help desk, network & communications, PC support and maintenance, application development, business continuity planning, and capacity planning.

About You

You will possess the following attributes:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential

Proven experience in network and systems administration

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft technologies

Experience with Azure and Microsoft D365 administration

Familiar with storage systems, backup solutions and disaster recovery strategies

Solid understanding of security best practices and networking fundamentals

Excellent analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills

Proactive, can-do attitude with flexibility to adapt to changing needs

Experience working in a fast paced environment and ability to pivot with changing priorities

Ability to look for ways to improve and innovate
