Key Responsibilities:
Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows and Linux servers, desktops and networks.
Monitor and maintain system performance, ensuring the availability of services.
Oversee the configuration and installation of hardware, software, and systems. Perform routine upgrades, patches, and system maintenance tasks
Manage backup systems to ensure data integrity and business continuity
Conduct regular system health checks and recommend improvements to enhance performance, scalability, and security
Maintain accurate system documentation, including configuration records, troubleshooting steps, and network diagrams
Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls to ensure secure and efficient operation of IT systems
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, providing support to end-users as needed.
Help maintain inventory of hardware and software assets.
Collaborate with IT staff on projects and system upgrades.
Assist with maintaining network security protocols and antivirus software.
Provide technical support for office hardware, such as computers, printers, and mobile devices.
Requirements:
This an office-based role – 5 days in the office
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.).
Proficient with Windows and Linux-based operating systems.
Understanding of virtualisation technologies (VMware).
Understanding of Backup technologies (Commvault / Veeam)
Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and user management
Hands-on experience with server and workstation hardware.
Understanding of firewall configurations, intrusion detection systems
Knowledge of system monitoring tools and software.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and effectively support end-users
A strong desire to learn and grow in the IT field.
Ability to work well in a team environment and handle multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):
Experience with cloud services (Azure).
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Fundamentals.
Experience with IT ticketing systems and ITIL processes.
