About Us

World Expeditions has been a pioneer in active, responsible adventure travel since 1975. With operations on all seven continents, we offer unique small group experiences that connect travellers to wilderness, culture, and community. Our trips span from the remote peaks of the Himalaya to the ancient trails of Europe and the wilds of Australia, all underpinned by a commitment to sustainability and innovation.

As part of the World Expeditions Travel Group (WETG), you’ll join a passionate and professional team shaping world class experiences for a diverse global audience of curious adventurers.

Why Join Us?

Flexible hybrid working (3 days in-office at our Sydney HQ or Melbourne office)

Be part of a passionate team in a purpose-led company

Access to staff discounts on global adventures across WETG brands

Work for a certified BCorp aligned with meaningful sustainability goals

The Role

We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Product Manager to join our operations team. You’ll be responsible for managing a portfolio of trekking, cultural and active adventure trips across key international destinations. One such region will be the Himalaya, the flagship region of the World Expeditions portfolio and where the company is best recognised.

This role blends creativity with commercial acumen – you’ll be designing and refining experiences that reflect our high standards, ethical values and global reputation.

In this role, you will:

Manage, enhance and maintain a portfolio of itineraries aligned with our responsible travel ethos

Build and manage supplier relationships, ensuring quality, value and strong local partnerships

Collaborate with Sales, Marketing and Operations teams to field questions, while also bringing new trip ideas to life and optimize existing products

Monitor client feedback and destination developments to inform product improvements

Carry out costing, documentation, trip note updates and operational support

Contribute to sustainability and regenerative travel initiatives through contact with your local operators

Ensure the website trip pages reflect our high standards with the use of AI for optimized trip copy and USPs, evocative quality images, past client testimonials and moving map routes.

Be an active contributor in the weekly sales/ops meetings

Participate in the shared roster for managing the after-hours emergency phone, including occasional evenings and weekends, with time in lieu provided

About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in adventure travel product management or operations

Strong knowledge of trekking or active travel, preferably with firsthand experience

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Proven supplier negotiation and relationship management skills

Confident written and verbal communication, with strong commercial thinking

Sound knowledge of Excel and travel databases; experience with FileMaker a plus

A collaborative, solutions-focused mindset and a passion for ethical, immersive travel

Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess market trends, understand competitive landscapes, and identify opportunities to strategically position World Expeditions for continued growth

Work Environment

Monday to Friday role 9-5.30

Hybrid working structure (3 in-office days per week in Sydney or Melbourne office)

Supportive and inclusive team culture focused on impact, quality and innovation

Our Commitment to Responsible Travel

World Expeditions is committed to protecting the planet through low-impact practices and climate-conscious initiatives, honouring cultural heritage by respecting traditions and partnering with local communities, safeguarding wildlife and nature with ethical and conservation-minded experiences, empowering local communities by ensuring tourism directly supports local livelihoods, and educating and inspiring travellers to be thoughtful global citizens.

Our Commitment to Justice, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels welcome, valued, and empowered to thrive. If you require any accommodations during the application process, please let us know.

Other benefits: 5 days educational leave with supportive funding, access to WETG trips globally at staff rate levels, training courses, ability to engage with World Expeditions Foundation and Bcorp components, additional leave day for World Volunteer Day
