Established in Hokkaido, Japan, we have pursued the production of delicious and authentic Japanese sweets since 1998.

Over the past two decades, we have proudly opened flagship stores worldwide, sharing our joyful journey with customers in countries such as China, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, and the USA.

In November 2021, we launched the LeTAO online shop in Australia at www.LeTAOaustralia.com. Building on this milestone, our Australian flagship store opened in Melbourne in October 2022, followed by the Sydney flagship store in October 2023.

About the Role

We are seeking a results-driven Retail Sales Manager to lead our Sydney store’s retail sales operations. This role is perfect for someone with strong retail sales expertise, a passion for premium products, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer experiences.

As the Retail Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving in-store sales, promoting our premium product range, and leading a team to consistently exceed performance targets.

The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in retail leadership, with a strong focus on sales growth through strategic upselling, staff coaching, and exceptional customer engagement.

You will lead by example—inspiring your team, maximising revenue, and cultivating a loyal, returning customer base while upholding the highest service standards.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Profitability:

Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets and maximise profitability.

Operational Excellence:

Ensure consistent operational standards, visual merchandising, and compliance.

Team Leadership:

Lead, coach, and foster a culture of excellence and high performance and upselling skills.

Inventory Management:

Ensure that all products are received in the correct unit count and condition and that deliveries are performed in accordance with LeTAO receiving policies and procedures.

Customer Experience:

Champion outstanding customer service and ensuring every customer enjoys a positive experience.

Safety & Compliance:

Be knowledgeable of LeTAO policies regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair, and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules, and procedures.

Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety, and labor requirements.

About You

Proven experience (3–5+ years) in retail management or area/cluster retail leadership.

Demonstrated track record in driving sales, achieving KPIs.

Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.

Proficiency in inventory management, visual merchandising, and retail operations.

Excellent communication, organisational, and planning abilities.

Commercial acumen and a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences.
