Location: Fremantle and Wadjemup/Rottnest Island (commuting), Western Australia
Under the guidance from the Manager (Conservation), the Environment Conservation Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing wildlife monitoring, management, and threat abatement strategies, plans, and activities for Wadjemup/Rottnest Island and its surrounding marine environments. The Coordinator also provides timely and fit-for-purpose analysis and communication, including reporting, of data and information collected through the team’s activities.
Additionally, the role involves advising the Environment Approvals and Compliance Coordinator on environmental matters for assessment and approvals support in addition to providing advice for various other island projects, developments, and operations. The Coordinator also takes responsibility for financial and contract management.

Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience coordinating multi-personnel field-based wildlife monitoring programs.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating multi-personnel programs that specifically target the management of processes that threaten the viability of key wildlife elements.
- Demonstrated capacity to design field-based wildlife monitoring and/or threat management programs that are not only ‘fit-for-purpose’ but also maximise effectiveness and feasibility within resource constraints.
- Demonstrated capacity to analyse field-derived data in a timely manner, such that results are transferable to different audiences/reporting requirements – such as supporting simple progress reports, assessing key performance criteria, through to highly technical outputs.
- Demonstrated capacity and/or knowledge of administrative and financial management of operations including risk assessment and management, contract management, and expenditure control within financial constraints.
