WCCD provides construction, routine maintenance, in-house electrical, plumbing, and gas, as well as HVAC services to a range of Government Departments and commercial clients within Western Australia, alongside a 24/7 emergency breakdown response call-out service.

The role:
Are you a safety professional with a passion for fostering a proactive safety culture in the building and construction industry? Join a reputable and well-established company with in-house trades across electrical, plumbing, and HVAC+R. You’ll play a vital role in supporting and strengthening our safety systems and practices across a diverse range of maintenance and construction projects.
We are seeking a WHSEQ Coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident working hands-on across multiple job sites. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of WHS legislation and ISO standards (45001, 9001, 14001), with a drive for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of WHS systems, policies, plans and procedures
Assist in attaining compliance with ISO 45001,9001 & 14001
Conduct regular site inspections, toolbox talks, risk assessments, and internal audits
Support incident investigations and corrective action plans
Coordinate and deliver inductions for all new staff and subcontractors
Facilitate safety training and drive awareness across all levels of the business
Ensure all subcontractor safety documentation is current and compliant
Promote a strong safety-first culture through collaboration with all teams
Manage the integrated WorxSafety app for monitoring and compliance
Assist with site safety management plans for tender submissions
What We’re Looking For
Australian Citizenship (required for security clearance on select sites)
Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (Diploma or ISO qualifications are highly regarded)
Demonstrated experience in a safety-focused role within the building or construction industry
Sound working knowledge of WHS legislation and ISO compliance and systems
Experience developing Site Safety Management Plans for tenders
Proven ability to conduct thorough risk assessments
Skilled in preparing JSA’s, SWMS, and Take 5 risk assessments
Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work across multiple job sites and teams with a proactive mindset
High attention to detail and the confidence to guide and influence others on safety matters
