The Kimberley Region is a remote and complex landscape which is renowned for its natural beauty and cultural significance. The region offers many unique opportunities to explore and enjoy world class natural and cultural attractions as well as appreciate the wilderness values of the area.
We are currently seeking a Coordinator (Eighty Mile Beach and Coastal Reserves) to join our team.
Under the limited direction of the District Manager this position is
- Responsible for coordinating the implementation of the joint management arrangements for the works programs identified within the Eighty Mile Beach Marine Park management plan and the Parks and reserves of the south-west Kimberley and the north-west Pilbara joint management plan.
- Ensures stakeholder and community involvement in protected area management, including undertaking an active role in the ongoing consultation and engagement of the traditional owners, Karajarri, Ngarla and Nyangumarta within the various reserves.

- A current CV, including the details of two referees with one being a recent or current manager/supervisor.
Selection Criteria
- Considerable knowledge of and experience in marine estate management, including developing and coordinating work plans and strategies, marine operations, education, enforcement, research and monitoring, plus familiarity with the principles of planning in the marine environment and having knowledge of marine and coastal ecology.
- Considerable understanding of and experience in working with traditional owners to deliver their native title aspirations and goals through joint management, cooperation, or collaborative arrangements with a preference for someone with an understanding of the annual planning and prioritising processes involved in the implementation of joint management plans.
- Evidence of, highly developed interpersonal and oral communication skills, demonstrated experience in effective management and leadership of teams and in developing and maintaining positive relationships with commercial operators, key stakeholders, community groups and the media.
- Demonstrated experience in, and knowledge of administrative and financial management, including budget preparation, expenditure control and preparing and presenting operational reports.
