About the role
The Service Coordinator is responsible for growing the Service and ensuring program sustainability over the short, medium and long term and requires the person to present a positive and professional image of BigDog when interacting with participants, family members, advocates, service providers, funding bodies and the general community.
As this role has a strong leadership focus, a personal commitment and passion for excellence is essential.
Key duties
Undertake new client sign ups, risk assessments, support calculators in line with the participant onboarding procedure.
Engage with a broad range of stakeholders including support coordinators, participants, and family members/guardians to facilitate quality supports.
Drafting and development of participant NDIS reporting and monitoring of participant funding
Contribute to medication management procedures for participants
Act as first/second line within the operations team for response in incident management of NDIS participants
Coordinator of support workers providing services to participants
Perform monthly audit and quality checks to ensure service standards are being adhered to
Monitor and ensure participant information is up to date within BigDog's client management system
Engage in regular feedback and check-ins with participants.
Assist with rostering where required and ensure that participant needs can be met prior to commencement of services.
Sets base rosters and updates notes for shifts.

Essential requirements
A strong level of effective oral and written communications skills
Competency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite

Group facilitation and presentation skills
Work with and adapt to a diverse range of people with different life styles and work styles
Show a supportive and cooperative approach to interaction with others
Focus on the needs of participants and provide quality service
Additional requirements

Exercise sound judgment
Make choices between a range of options within established procedures/standards and guidelines
Certificate IV in Community Services or similar is desirable or must be willing to obtain.
Must be willing to take on-call phone on a rotating roster.
