Are you a highly skilled and experienced professional in waste management and resource recovery? We are seeking a dedicated individual to lead the development, procurement, and management of waste and resource recovery contracts, and to undertake ongoing contract management functions.

About the Role:

• Lead the planning, preparation, procurement, and supervision of waste and recycling service contracts.
• Provide expert advice on complex matters related to waste and recycling contracts and procurement.
• Liaise with contractors to evaluate and negotiate contract variations or clarify requirements.
• Assess contractor performance against key indicators and implement resolution strategies to ensure service standards are met.
• Undertake various contract management and administration projects, including customer service workflows, record keeping, and auditing.
• Identify, develop, and implement waste and recycling initiatives to improve resource recovery and circular economy outcomes.
• Provide professional and effective stakeholder engagement in project delivery.
• Offer technical expertise and advice on business optimization, resource recovery, and circular economy initiatives.
• Review and provide advice on proposed Development Applications regarding waste collection systems.
  

What We're Looking For:

• A relevant qualification combined with extensive experience, expertise, and competence to perform all duties of the position.
• A strong understanding of current waste and recycling policies, legislation, and operational service delivery issues impacting local government.
• High-level interpersonal skills for negotiating with contractors and stakeholders to resolve contractual issues.
• Extensive computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft suite applications and other corporate software.
• Willingness to participate in the after-hours waste on-call roster.
• Required vaccinations for Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Tetanus.
