Your next career opportunity
As the Office Coordinator at Melbourne Bioinformatics, you'll play a crucial role in supporting cutting-edge research within the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. You'll have the opportunity to manage diverse administrative and financial tasks, from processing transactions to coordinating workshops. Your skills will be instrumental in ensuring smooth operations and contributing to the success of innovative bioinformatics initiatives.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage Financial Processes: Handle accounts receivable and payable, process reimbursements, reconcile credit cards, and prepare financial reports for the Management team.
- Provide Administrative Support: Coordinate workshops, manage travel arrangements, assist with onboarding, and maintain office equipment and supplies.
- Liaise with Stakeholders: Communicate effectively with internal and external partners, resolving issues and ensuring compliance with University policies.
- Support Human Resources Activities: Manage casual contracts, facilitate onboarding processes, and maintain confidential HR documents.

You are a highly organised professional with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, capable of working autonomously and collaboratively to support a dynamic research environment.
You may also:
- Have a tertiary degree in a relevant field or extensive experience in administration and finance.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrate excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
- Have experience in accounts processing and financial management.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office 365, WordPress, and other relevant software applications.
- Have previous administrative experience in a tertiary education environment.
