The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.
The Organisational Development Team’s primary focus is to assist IUIH meet its strategic objective of growing and supporting a skilled and enabled workforce in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. With IUIH experiencing significant workforce growth over the decade the focus is on development, management and implementation of frameworks and programs to: increase Indigenous workforce participation, build required workforce capability through training and development opportunities, build workforce pathways, and create and nurture an innovative, inclusive, reflective and respectful environment built on Aboriginal Ways.

About the Role?
The Organisational Development team is offering a unique 12-month opportunity to lead the Careers Our Way Team. Functions of the Careers Our Way team include university student placements, career navigation, workforce transition support, Growing Propa Leadership development and cadetship coordination. You will work closely with the other Organisational Development Team Leads and managers across the IUIH Network to support our workforce to grow.
The purpose of this position is to:

  • Oversee and support growth of all functions of Careers Our Way team
  • Lead the Careers Our Way Team in providing support to students and staff to progress their career
  • Provide advice and support staff to navigate their next steps in study, upskilling or work opportunities. The role will work alongside Managers to also upskill and provide support for leaders in growing staff through a range of opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of Emerging Leaders programs and opportunities

About You?

  • Relevant degree in health, education or community services.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a multidisciplinary team
  • Vibrant and creative out of the box mindset with problem solving capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and to work productively with strong organisational and time management skills and experience
  • Knowledge of the intersections between school, work and tertiary study
  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
  • Current Criminal History Check
  • Current QLD Blue Card - required prior to your commencement
