Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of the clinic, ensuring efficiency and compliance with healthcare regulations/ statutory requirements, ensure Staff are acquainted with latest legislative requirements and contractual obligations
Maintain primary responsibility for the practice electronic systems and computer security in liaison with an external IT contractor, scheduling maintenance, equipment up grade, educate team on IT security
Manage administrative staff, rostering, and workflow to maintain optimal clinic performance.
Infection control and co-ordination: maintain practice systems and processes for hand hygiene, environmental cleanliness, spill management, , practice immunizations in line with the practice policy. Manage practice sterilization process and ensure that the practice waste management complies nwith local , state and federal regulations.
Handle patient inquiries, appointments, billing, and Medicare/private billing processes.
Maintain accreditation standards (e.g., RACGP) and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals to streamline patient care.
Monitor financial performance, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and budgeting.
Implement and improve practice systems (e.g., medical software like Best Practice, Pracsoft, or Medical Director).
Manage stock, equipment, and supplier relationships.
Address patient concerns and maintain high service standards.
Essential Requirements:
Previous experience as a Practice Manager (or similar role) in a medical/healthcare setting.
Strong knowledge of medical billing (Medicare/DVA/private billing) and healthcare compliance.
Proficiency in medical practice software (e.g., Best Practice, Pracsoft).
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of OH&S and infection control protocols.
Qualifications in healthcare administration .
