About the Role
Our client are a well-known NSW Government department responsible for planning, housing, and infrastructure. Its mission includes creating vibrant communities, delivering affordable and diverse housing, and managing lands and assets. They are currently seeking an Acquisitions Analyst to come in and work with their team in Parramatta NSW on a contract role until 29th May 2026 with possible extensions.
Candidates for this position must possess advanced proficiency in creating and managing complex Excel workbooks, along with demonstrated experience in a government, property or infrastructure environment, and understanding of property valuation methodologies or a property valuation background is desirable.
The property function is a critical component of the Reconnecting River Country Program (RRCP). As an Acquisition Analyst, you will play a key support role within the Acquisition Team, providing high-quality administrative, coordination and reporting assistance to Acquisition Managers (AMs) and the Senior Acquisition Manager (SAM).
This role ensures the smooth functioning of acquisition processes through the maintenance of accurate records, timely distribution of landholder correspondence, and coordination of information across systems. Your work will help ensure property negotiations and transactions are carried out efficiently, transparently and in alignment with the project's milestones and governance requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to allocated Acquisition Managers and the Senior Acquisition Manager.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of all relevant landholder correspondence, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Maintain and update key records, trackers, and filing systems to support acquisition activities.
- Ensure data entry and document management processes are followed in accordance with program protocols and audit requirements.
- Help track property-specific milestones and ensure accurate reporting against deliverables.
- Support regular reporting requirements to the Landholder Negotiation Management Team (LNMT), including preparing inputs for internal reports and presentations.
- Liaise with the broader acquisition and project team to support coordination of deliverables and consistency of information across workstreams.
- Assist in monitoring the progress of acquisition tasks and flagging emerging risks or delays to the AM or SAM.
- Provide general assistance and problem-solving support to help the team respond flexibly to shifting priorities.
Please note you will work primarily from our clients Parramatta office, with some regional travel requirements to the Riverina region as required.
About You
You will be an experienced Acquisitions Analyst with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Advanced proficiency in creating and managing complex Excel workbooks (essential).
- Tertiary qualifications in business, property, project management or a related field (desirable)
- Demonstrated experience in a government, property or infrastructure environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (particularly Excel, PowerPoint Outlook, and Word).
- Proficiency using GIS and / or spatial databases (desirable).
- Experience working with project management systems, document control, or customer relationship management systems (desirable).
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced team environment.
- Understanding of property valuation methodologies or a property valuation background is desirable.
- Understanding of the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991 is desirable.
- Core Practitioner Certificate with the NSW Centre for Property Acquisition would be desirable. Membership with the Australian Property Institute (API) or similar professional body is desirable.
