The Role:
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Medical Secretary to support our ENT specialists and play a pivotal role in our ongoing success. As a key member of our professional admin team, you’ll support the day-to-day operations of our practice while ensuring the highest level of care and service for our patients. This is a varied and rewarding position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Surgical Billing: Handle all aspects of surgical billing with precision, including Medicare and private health fund claims, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Patient Interaction: Answer incoming calls, assist patients, and coordinate appointments, always providing a friendly and professional experience.
Financial Management: Balance the day’s takings and prepare banking deposits, keeping our financial records in excellent shape.
Medical Records: Manage patient files with the utmost care and confidentiality, maintaining an organized and secure office environment.
Debtor Management: Take charge of managing outstanding payments, ensuring timely follow-ups and resolution.
Collaboration: Communicate effectively with doctors, practice staff, and external partners (e.g., private hospitals, pathology labs, GPs) to ensure seamless patient care.
Medicare & Health Fund Knowledge: Use your expertise in Medicare and private health fund billing to ensure our processes run smoothly.
What We’re Looking For:
Prior Experience: Experience in a general or specialist medical practice is essential—ideally, you’ve worked in a similar administrative or billing role.
Genie Software: Experience with Genie software is highly regarded but not essential—training will be provided if needed.
Detail-Oriented & Efficient: You’ll need to juggle multiple tasks, stay organized, and maintain a calm, professional demeanor under pressure while demonstrating a high level of attention to detail.
Team Player: We’re looking for someone who loves collaborating with others and contributing to a positive, supportive team culture. Strong interpersonal skills are a must.
Patient-Centered Approach: Above all, you must be passionate about delivering outstanding patient service with care and empathy.
