About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at Pieno Cafe/wine bar as a Floor Manager. As the Floor Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the floor, overseeing a team of customer service-oriented staff. This full-time position is located in the vibrant Surry Hills area of Sydney.

What you'll be doing

Manage and lead a team of front-of-house staff, including baristas, waitstaff and cashiers

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the cafe, ensuring high standards of customer service and efficient workflow

Implement and maintain effective systems and procedures to optimise the cafe/wine bar

Provide hands-on assistance to the team during peak periods

Resolve customer queries and complaints in a professional and courteous manner

Contribute to the development and implementation of staff training programs

Collaborate with the wider management team to drive continuous improvement and growth

What we're looking for

Significant experience (3+ years) in a similar floor management or supervisory role within the hospitality industry

Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team

Excellent customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities

Proficient in cash handling, inventory management and point-of-sale systems

A passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances
