  • Taronga Conservation Society Australia Salaried Award, Clerk Grade 7/8, annual salary package from $124,425 + 12% superannuation & leave loading

Position Description - Regional Operations Supervisor

Taronga Habitat Positive is restoring climate resilient habitat for threatened species and is looking for a Regional Operations Supervisor (Targeted Australian Aboriginal & Torres Stright Island people) to join the Restoration Programs Team.

In this new and exciting role, you will be part of an experienced team who are just as motivated as you are to achieve real conservation and community outcomes in the project's target region.

Supporting Taronga's Commitment to Country, this position is targeted to provide opportunities for First Nations employment with the goal of attracting and employing Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff.

About You…

  • are experienced in land management and care about meaningful conservation
  • have strong skills in developing stakeholder relationships and collaborating with community to make a real impact
  • contribute to diverse teams and driven by purpose.

About the Role…

You will be undertaking an engagement and project management role to develop and deliver the Taronga Habitat Positive program. This will include working with local Aboriginal representative bodies and community organisations to identify priorities and coordinate opportunities for and with local Aboriginal communities.

You will oversee on-ground operations at Taronga Habitat Positive sanctuaries and work with the Taronga's Restoration Programs team and specialist contractors to develop and implement conservation land management activities.

You will also collaborate with Taronga's Community and Cultural Programs team to develop innovative experiences that drive youth engagement to actively participate in education, community outreach and conservation programs at Taronga.

Location

Regional (NSW Northern Tablelands) with regular travel to Sydney required.
