About the position
The Works Supervisor leads a works team in the professional, diligent performance of duties associated with the construction, maintenance and repair of Council’s infrastructure to a best practice standard, and assists the Works Coordinator to coordinate resources in a proactive, cost effective and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities
Provide on-call support, coordinating staff, plant and materials in emergency situations
Ensure WHS procedures, inductions, and risk assessments are followed and documented
Report incidents and assist with investigations and safety improvements
Assist with quality and environmental processes, including required documentation
Assist with preparing quotations, including calculating material and resource needs
- Supervise, lead and support works staff to ensure timely completion of daily and monthly programs, whilst overseeing the completion and submission of staff timesheets

About you
Certificate IV in Local Government Operational Works (or working towards) or relevant work experience
Experience with risk assessments and safe work method statements in road or construction works
Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings accurately
Hold a current Class C Driver Licence and WorkCover OH&S General Induction card
Competent with basic computer programs, including Word, Excel and Outlook
Hold a ‘Prepare a Work Zone’ Traffic Management Plan Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

- Permanent Full Time, 38 hours per week,
- A gross weekly salary from $1544.92 to $1733.30 based on demonstrated competencies, qualifications, skills and experience. Plus 11.5% superannuation.
