Sunflower Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Accommodation Manager to join our dynamic team. The Accommodation Manager will lead and manage our Individualised Living Options (ILO) and Supported Independent Living (SIL) programs. This role will drive the growth and continuous improvement of our accommodation services for individuals with psychosocial disabilities, ensuring the highest quality and person-centred care in line with NDIS Practice Standards and regulatory frameworks.

As an Accommodation Manager at Sunflower Services, your responsibilities include:

Leadership & Team Development:

· Lead, coach, and provide performance oversight to House Managers and Accommodation Coordinators, ensuring alignment with NDIS standards and best practices.

· Foster a positive, high-performing, values-driven team culture focused on clinical governance, ethical practice, and continuous improvement.

· Conduct structured supervision, regular leadership meetings, and targeted upskilling initiatives to support professional development.

Service Management & Innovation:

· Oversee the strategic planning, design, and continuous improvement of SIL and ILO accommodation services.

· Innovate new care models, service delivery processes, and funding tracking methods that improve participant outcomes and increase market competitiveness.

· Implement and monitor performance metrics and KPIs to ensure accountability and high-quality, person-centred care.

· Develop and manage participant journey materials, including a detailed ILO and SIL booklet, and organise Open Days for new homes to promote services.

· Drive the introduction of evidence-based practices and service enhancements to improve operational efficiency.

Compliance & Risk Management:

· Ensure strict adherence to NDIS Practice Standards, regulatory frameworks, and internal compliance policies through consistent monitoring and audits.

· Develop and manage risk management systems, including dynamic risk assessments and medication protocols, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants and staff.

· Lead incident management processes, ensuring timely reporting, root cause analysis, and implementing systemic improvements.

· Oversee restrictive practice compliance and actively participate in Restrictive Practice Approval (RPA) panels.

Operational Oversight:

· Provide executive-level oversight of all onboarding, intake processes, and service agreements to ensure compliance and participant-centred procedures.

· Oversee property management systems, including property acquisition, setup, maintenance, and landlord/real estate engagement.

· Ensure accommodation assets meet quality, safety, and suitability benchmarks for participants.

· Take proactive action to ensure the timely acquisition of new properties, maintaining operational budgets.

Business Development & Stakeholder Relations:

· Lead business development initiatives, including marketing and promoting vacancies, participant matching, and expanding ILO/SIL offerings to meet growth objectives.

· Organise and lead networking events, such as Coffee Connections, Expos, ILO info sessions, and Open Days to foster community engagement.

· Establish and cultivate strong relationships with “gold star” referrers and build strategic partnerships with like-minded providers to grow the organisation’s network and reputation.

· Represent Sunflower Services at industry events, forums, and sector engagements, positioning the organisation as a provider of choice and thought leader in the disability services sector.

Organisational Alignment:

· Ensure alignment of accommodation services with the broader organisational vision, strategic goals, and governance priorities, working closely with the Operations Lead and Board.

· Contribute to organisational planning, reporting, and performance review processes to integrate Accommodation Services outcomes into company-wide objectives.

· Champion organisational values and culture, embedding them into service delivery and operational practices.

To succeed in the role, you will need:

· Familiarity with NDIS principles, Practice Standards, and legislative frameworks, including the Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework.

· Tertiary education in Psychology, Mental Health, Disability, Business highly desirable.

· Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop teams within the disability sector, fostering a values-driven, high-performance culture.

· Strong critical thinking skills in complex, participant-focused situations, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions.

· Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

· Experience managing heightened-risk situations, especially in complex or segregated service environments.

· Understanding of mental health conditions and their impact on accommodation needs, and how to support clients with psychosocial disabilities.

· Ability to oversee multiple accommodation sites or programs, including budget management, resource allocation, and performance tracking.

· Knowledge and experience in person-centred care practices, promoting choice, independence, and respectful support.

· Strong conflict management skills, with the ability to handle complaints, incidents, and ensure compliance with NDIS quality and safeguarding standards.

· Familiarity with software tools like ShiftCare and MS Office, and the ability to troubleshoot basic IT issues to maintain service continuity.

· Experience in building relationships with service providers, healthcare professionals, and the broader community, as well as organising outreach and social inclusion activities.

· Ability to remain composed under pressure, adapt to changing needs, and stay focused on achieving high-quality outcomes for clients.
