Sunflower Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate House Manager to join our dynamic team.
As a House Manager at Sunflower Services, your responsibilities include:
- Implement trauma-informed care practices throughout the facilities.
- Provide guidance and support to staff in managing Participants mental health needs.
- Collaborate with mental health professionals, clinicians, and stakeholders to ensure residents receive excellent care.
- Monitor expenditure against the participants budget to prevent unauthorised over-utilisation.
- Ensuring all Supported Independent Living (SIL) placements meet NDIS compliance standards and internal operational requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of resident activities, including ABC charts, shower logs, food logs, sleeping logs, and medication logs.
- Prepare incident reports and conduct investigations as needed.
- Send all incident reports/ evidence and data to NDIS stakeholders. Generate graphs and reports to monitor resident progress and compliance with NDIS requirements.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, support coordinators, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct online meetings to address any concerns and barriers in relation to the Participant.
- Work closely with the accommodation manager to develop efficient rosters, schedules, and reporting mechanisms.
- Ensure staffing levels meet resident needs and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and motivate a small to medium-sized team of support staff.
- Provide ongoing training, supervision, and support to promote professional growth.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to address challenging behaviours effectively.
- Demonstrate exemplary leadership qualities and foster a positive work environment.
- Creating and maintaining up to date Service Agreements.
- Creating dynamic risk assessments and home safety checklists in accordance to NDIS requirements.
- Build strong rapport with staff and residents to create a supportive community atmosphere.
- Develop a visiting schedule between all SIL homes.
- Celebrate birthdays, Easter, Christmas, and special events (including cultural)
- Develop marketing strategies to promote new SILs and attract potential residents.
- Ensure all placements have appropriate WHS policies and procedures
To succeed in the role, you will need:
- Minimum Diploma in Community Services, Mental Health, Alcohol & other Drugs or Youth Work.
- Proven experience in Support Work, Accommodation and NDIS is highly desirable.
- Relevant management experience is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport, build trust, and maintain boundaries.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of community resources and social services.
- Empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental attitude.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping.
- Ethical and culturally sensitive approach to client care.
