Bottlejac Trading is seeking a part-time Financial Controller. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing most aspects of finance across the group and work closely with the Owners, Bookkeeper and a roving CFO.

The role is based near Lake Keepit (preferred 1+ day/ week onsite) with the option to work the additional days remotely. There may be the opportunity to transition into the role of CFO for suitably qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and deliver monthly financial and variance reports for 4 entities

Finance facility management

Assist with budgeting and forecasting

Assist with AP/AR, payroll for 15 staff, capex tracking

Assist with maintaining financial models

Ensure compliance with GST/BAS, payroll tax, income tax

Manage monthly finance processes including:

Balance sheet reconciliations

Cattle purchase and sale, and feedlot commodity stock on hand reconciliations

Monthly accruals and manual journals

Budget analysis and capex/R&M reviews

GST/BAS lodgement

About You

CA/CPA qualified, with a tertiary degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business

3+ years’ experience in a similar role—ideally in agribusiness or farming

Advanced Excel skills with financial modelling and analysis capabilities

Experience with Xero preferred

Strong knowledge of Australian statutory compliance and payroll systems

Hands-on, proactive, and with good interpersonal skills
