The Opportunity

This interim Financial Controller position represents an opportunity to oversee and optimise the entire end-to-end finance function within a rapidly expanding company. What You'll Do

As our Financial Controller, you will be the linchpin of our financial integrity and ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and insightful analysis across all financial operations. Your core responsibilities will encompass:

• Leading and overseeing the complete end-to-end finance function, driving the timely and accurate execution of month-end and year-end close processes, including comprehensive reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
• Developing, managing, and refining the annual budgeting and forecasting cycles, providing critical financial guidance for business planning and operational performance.
• Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of all financial data, implementing robust internal controls, and upholding compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/AASB).
• Managing all statutory compliance requirements, including BAS, FBT, Income Tax, and other relevant regulatory filings.
• Overseeing cash flow management and forecasting, optimising working capital, and managing foreign currency exposures given our international supply chain.
• Providing insightful financial analysis and reporting to senior management, identifying key trends, variances, and strategic opportunities.
• Collaborating closely with operational teams to understand business drivers and provide financial insights that support operational efficiency and profitability.
• Leading, mentoring, and developing a finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and excellence.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives across finance systems and processes, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency, automation, and reporting capabilities.
• Managing external audit processes and maintaining strong relationships with auditors, banking partners, and other external stakeholders.

What You'll Bring

You are an accomplished, strategic, and hands-on finance leader with a proven track record of managing end-to-end financial operations in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.

• CPA/CA qualification is essential, coupled with extensive post-qualification experience in a similar Financial Controller or senior finance management role, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering and project-based industry.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing complete month-end and year-end processes, including general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Strong proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights.
• Deep understanding of accounting principles and statutory compliance requirements (BAS, FBT, Income Tax).
• Proven experience with ERP systems implementation or optimization is highly regarded, as we continue to invest in our technology stack.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving financial discrepancies.
• Strong leadership capabilities, with experience in building, mentoring, and motivating finance teams.
